Rei Murakami

President / The Murakami Family Foundation

Rei is the President of the Murakami Foundation since January 2022. She was born in 1994 in Tokyo and graduated from Keio University, Faculty of Law, Department of Political Science. She started her career at Mitsubishi Corporation Energy Group, and received her Master of Business Administration from INSEAD. She then joined the Murakami Family Foundation, a family foundation founded by her father. As president of the Murakami Family Foundation, she launched the Public Leader Academy in August 2022 to support women who want to pursue a career in politics in order to help close the gender gap in Japan. Rei is also enrolled in the Executive Development Program, Harvard Kennedy School and a member of The Milken Institute Young Leaders Circle.
